WebP to JPEG Is Primarily a Compatibility Fix
Older applications, email templates and upload fields may reject WebP while accepting JPEG. This conversion creates a broadly compatible copy of a modern-format photograph.
JPEG has no transparency and the WebP source may already be lossy. Transparent areas are flattened onto white and another lossy encode is applied, so retain the WebP original for editing or archival use.

A Second Compression Stage and White Matting
The quality slider controls the new JPEG encoding. Aggressive settings can compound artefacts already present in a lossy WebP, so zoom in on texture and hard edges before choosing the result.
Alpha pixels are composited over white; there is no custom background selector. Canvas output also omits metadata and cannot retain motion from an animated WebP.

Where the File Content Is Processed
Your selected file is read by browser APIs on the device; RizeTab does not upload its content to a processing server. PDF routes may download pdf-lib or pdf.js code from a CDN. That request can expose an IP address and ordinary connection details to the provider, but the file being converted is not part of it.

What happens to transparent WebP areas?
JPEG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels are flattened onto white.
Can two lossy encodes reduce quality?
Yes. If the WebP is already lossy, JPEG encoding can add damage; start with a high quality setting and inspect the result.
Will an animated WebP become an animated JPEG?
No. JPEG does not carry animation; a browser-decoded still frame is used.
Will this conversion always reduce file size?
No. The main goal is compatibility, and size may increase or decrease with the source and quality setting.
Is the WebP uploaded to a server?
